Basic Workshop

Over the last 14 years, our workshop practice has been honed and tested in a wide variety of contexts, with a diverse number of people, from the techno-savvy to the techno-phobic. Participating in a workshop is the best way to grasp our work. The sense of connection, of discovery or risk, and of reward, is profound.

The goal of the basic workshop is to design and produce a 3-5 minute digital story. Students craft and record first-person narratives, collect still images and music with which to illustrate their pieces, and are guided through computer tutorials which enable them, with teacher support, to edit their own stories.

Workshops are held as all day, contiguous three day intensives, involving 8-12 participants. Participants are given materials prior to the workshop to assist them in preparation, including suggestions about script writing, image selection, and use of video clips.

We offer introductory Workshops for Educators, advanced Train the Trainer Workshops and customized workshops as well. To learn more about our customized workshops, please visit our Programs & Services or email info@storycenter.org.
