Certificate Program in Digital Storytelling

Please note: the Center for Digital Storytelling is phasing out the Certificate Program with the University of Colorado and launching a brand new, more robust Facilitator Intensive Training. This program will go live in Spring 2013. Please check back with details to follow or contact daniel@storycenter.org with questions.

A collaboration between the Center for Digital Storytelling and the University of Colorado Denver, the Digital Storytelling Certificate Program is designed to help individuals and organizations learn the skills necessary for successfully carrying out digital storytelling projects.

Our approach emphasizes personal voice and facilitative teaching methods as pioneered by the Center. Through interactive workshops, students create, produce, and use digital stories to enhance their work in education, non-profit, and/or business environments. Students also learn to facilitate digital workshops within their organizations.

The Certificate Program, which includes four courses totaling ten credit hours, may be completed in one year. Credits from INTE 5340 may be applied as an elective toward a UC Denver master’s degree in Information and Learning Technologies.  INTE 5330 (Standard or Educator workshop) should be taken first and INTE 5340 should be taken before INTE 5345. INTE 5350 (Intro-to-Facilitation Training workshop) can be taken any time after INTE 5330 is completed.

The required face-to-face workshops (INTE 5330 and 5350) are offered worldwide; current schedule and locations may be found at The Center for Digital Storytelling. Contact Daniel Weinshenker at daniel@storycenter.org with any questions about workshop content. Contact Kevin Poole, University of Colorado at Denver School of Continuing Education, at 303-315-4984, with questions about the certificate itself, courses offered by UCD, and registration on the University website.

To register, visit the University of Colorado online.
