Certificate Program in Digital Storytelling
Please note: the Center for Digital Storytelling is phasing out the Certificate Program with the University of Colorado and launching a brand new, more robust Facilitator Intensive Training. This program will go live in Spring 2013. Please check back with details to follow or contact email@example.com with questions.
A collaboration between the Center for Digital Storytelling and the University of Colorado Denver, the Digital Storytelling Certificate Program is designed to help individuals and organizations learn the skills necessary for successfully carrying out digital storytelling projects.
Our approach emphasizes personal voice and facilitative teaching methods as pioneered by the Center. Through interactive workshops, students create, produce, and use digital stories to enhance their work in education, non-profit, and/or business environments. Students also learn to facilitate digital workshops within their organizations.
The Certificate Program, which includes four courses totaling ten credit hours, may be completed in one year. Credits from INTE 5340 may be applied as an elective toward a UC Denver master’s degree in Information and Learning Technologies. INTE 5330 (Standard or Educator workshop) should be taken first and INTE 5340 should be taken before INTE 5345. INTE 5350 (Intro-to-Facilitation Training workshop) can be taken any time after INTE 5330 is completed.
The required face-to-face workshops (INTE 5330 and 5350) are offered worldwide; current schedule and locations may be found at The Center for Digital Storytelling. Contact Daniel Weinshenker at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about workshop content. Contact Kevin Poole, University of Colorado at Denver School of Continuing Education, at 303-315-4984, with questions about the certificate itself, courses offered by UCD, and registration on the University website.
To register, visit the University of Colorado online.

Students may take any five-day Center for Digital Storytelling Intro-to-Facilitation Training, in any location, to fulfill INTE 5350.
Please visit our Master Schedule for dates and locations of these workshops.
If students have taken Standard, Educator, and/or Intro-to-Facilitation workshops in the past two years, they may use them towards the certificate, but they must still pay and register for university credit for these courses. To inquire about this process, please contact Kevin Poole, University of Colorado at Denver School of Continuing Education, 303-315-4984.
When you are ready to begin the Certificate Program, please email email@example.com and state your intent to obtain the certificate. Once you have successfully completed all four required courses with a grade of B or better, including the two workshops taught by the Center for Digital Storytelling, the certificate will appear on your transcript. Certain exemptions may apply. For questions about the certificate, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have additional questions about the Center’s three-day or five-day workshops, please email email@example.com.
If you have additional questions about the certificate program, transfer of credits, registering for the online course, or paying for credits for either the online course or the three-day or five-day workshops, please contact Kevin Poole, University of Colorado at Denver School of Continuing Education, 303-315-4984.
