Facilitator Intensive Training

The Center for Digital Storytelling’s Facilitator Intensive Training (FIT) workshop has been designed for individuals who are interested in acquiring skills for leading Digital Storytelling workshops. If you are NOT interested in teaching the process but have taken one of our introductory Standard or Educator workshops and wish to further explore your own storytelling abilities, we recommend that you sign up for a second Standard Digital Storytelling Workshop or Educator Workshop or take our new Advanced Digital Storytelling Workshop.

The FIT offers in-depth skills assessment and focused opportunities for participants to work on developing their capabilities in chosen content areas (Story Content, Digital Story Design, Facilitation of Individual and Group Process, and Technical). We at the Center feel that considerable expertise across each of these content areas is necessary to successfully guide people through the process of creating Digital Stories. Therefore we realize that attending a FIT will advance participants’ learning processes but will not be sufficient to fully prepare one to become a facilitator. Rather, we offer a variety of follow-up opportunities for FIT participants to collaborate with us on the development of their projects, as a way of providing ongoing mentoring, support, and learning opportunities.

*Pre-requisite: completion of Standard Digital Storytelling Workshop or Educator Workshop.
