Intro-to-Facilitation Training Workshop
Our Intro-to-Facilitation Training (IFT) Workshop is designed for those who are interested in beginning to acquire skills for assisting at or leading digital storytelling workshops. The IFT offers personalized skills assessment and focused opportunities for participants to develop their capabilities in chosen content areas (story content, visual design, facilitation of individual and group processes, and technology teaching). The workshop also enables participants to practice teaching one of our three-day workshops, which takes place within the longer IFT session.
At CDS, we believe that facilitators must possess considerable expertise across multiple content areas in order to successfully guide people through the process of creating digital stories. While attending the IFT will advance participants' learning, they are unlikely to leave the workshop feeling prepared to lead workshops on their own. We therefore offer a variety of follow-up opportunities for IFT participants to collaborate with us on digital storytelling projects, as a way of providing ongoing mentoring, support, and learning in the field.
Continuing Education Credits are available through Dominican University of California (two CEUs) or University of Colorado.
Prerequisite for IFT: Completion of a CDS three-day Digital Storytelling Workshop either a Standard Workshop or Educator Workshop. For more information please email workshop@storycenter.org.
Note: Participants cannot take the three-day workshop and the five-day IFT at the same time. IFT participants, with CDS staff supervision, lead a three-day digital storytelling workshop as part of their training in the IFT and thus cannot simultaneously participate in that three-day workshop.

The cost of our Intro-to-Facilitation Training (IFT) Workshop is $1,500.
