If you prefer to stay in San Francisco, you can easily take the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from downtown San Francisco to Berkeley. The BART trip takes about 45 minutes or so, and then it’s a 15 min. walk to the workshop location. Be aware that on weekends the trains do not run as often.
