This is the time when your photographs turn from just an image on paper to an image on your monitor, your home movies play on your computer, and your voice and music emanate from the computer's speakers.

Before we do any of that, however, we need to get organized: like the storyboard, an organized filing system will make your project go much faster.

Let's take a look at how "A Recipe" was organized:

Make the same folders and subfolders [Macspeak] or directories and subdirectories [Windows-speak] with the same names on your hard drive. Call the main folder or directory by whatever name you plan to call your movie.
And now it's time to digitize. You have four tasks before you. Take them in whatever order you please, but do them all before you take the next step:
