StoryCenter is partnering with the National Humanities Center to offer a special three-day Humanities Moments digital storytelling workshop. We learn about the humanities in classes on history and literature, art and music, philosophy and foreign languages. They are also part of our everyday lives, helping us understand the world and our place in it. Share a story about a time when you were deeply influenced by the humanities. Perhaps it occurred while you sat in an interesting class, or was spurred by something unexpected you encountered in a museum. Maybe you suddenly recalled the words of a poem or the lyrics to a song or discovered the story behind a family heirloom. Perhaps visiting a foreign city, or observing a striking video clip or photograph changed your perspective. We’ve all had “humanities moments” — when our lives were made richer, more poignant, and meaningful because of the insights the humanities provide. Come share YOUR humanities moment!
Humanities Moments is an ongoing campaign to increase public awareness of the relevance of the humanities.
