In this project-based workshop, participants focus on the heart of StoryCenter’s approach to narrative - developing your story in community.

During the 2-session workshop, participants will engage with StoryCenter’s participatory storytelling methods. They will come together with a community of storytellers to develop a short, compelling personal narrative.

Participants will:

  • Learn about StoryCenter’s storytelling Seven Steps Framework.

  • Share a story with participants in a facilitated story circle and receive feedback,

  • Witness the stories of fellow participants and provide feedback,

  • Hone their chosen personal narrative.

This workshop is designed for anyone interested in learning more about how StoryCenter’s participatory media methods can support the shaping of emotionally compelling personal narratives, as well as community-building, wellness, and leadership development.

You will engage in a creative group process and enjoy support for crafting a short, 300 to 350-word script. StoryCenter will provide prep instructions before the first workshop meeting. Participants can bring their own short piece of writing or use a StoryCenter prompt to identify a story to work on during the workshop.

This workshop requires attendance at two online sessions on Monday, March 16, 2026, and Friday, March 20, 2026. Each session is 1.5 hours and begins at 9 am Pacific Time/12 pm Eastern Time.
